Apr 12, 2018The hijackers deliberately crashed two of the planes into the upper floors of the north and south towers of the World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. They crashed a third plane into the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia. After learning about the other attacks, passengers on the fourth hijacked plane fought the terrorists and the plane was crashed into an empty field in western Pennsylvania about 20 minutes by air from Washington, D.C., the hijackers’ apparent destination.The Twin Towers ultimately collapsed from the impacts and the resulting intense fires. Among those killed in the collapse of the towers were 412 emergency workers who responded to the World Trade Center, including 343 NYC firefighters 37 Port Authority police officers, 23 NYPD police officers, eight emergency medical technicians and paramedics from private emergency medical services and one patrolman from the New York Fire Patrol.The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people from 93 nations. 2,753 people were killed in New York, 184 people were killed at the Pentagon and 40 people were killed on Flight 93.Below are their names.The World Trade Center VictimsGordon M.
